The greatest question of life is "What am I doing to plan for eternity?"
The fact remains that everyone faces death one day. And everyone must be prepared.
The Bible gives us the answers of how to prepare for eternity.
You must realize that you are a sinner.
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
We all make mistakes. No matter how hard we try or how sincere we are, our mistakes, thoughts, and actions prove the sin nature we have
You must repent of your sins.
Luke 13:3 - "I tell you, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish."
Repentance involves a number of things. We must recognize we have made mistakes. We must confess those things to God. We must ask God's forgiveness for the sin we have committed. We must turn from those things we have done.
You must believe in Jesus as your Savior.
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace have you been saved through faith, and not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Romans 10:9 - "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."
Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Jesus came and sacrificed Himself on the cross. He did this because He loves you. He paid the price for your sins. You can't work your way to heaven. You can't ever be good enough to get to heaven.
You must believe in Jesus Christ. Believe that died, was buried, and rose again. Believe in Jesus and you will be saved.
